Through the voting controller app, the robot takes the role of the questioner in an audience-response system. It loads from a platform, e.g. https://pingo.coactum.de/, predefined questions and presents and asks them to the public, who can answer the questions using internet-enabled mobile devices. The robot gets the
questions from the platform. The robot presents both the questions and the results on his tablet, in addition, he keeps an eye on the question time and supports the process with additional spoken
comments.
Prerequisite for the app is a stable internet connection for the robot. Therefore, the app can be used anywhere: in the lecture hall, at specialist conferences, as part of presentations, etc.
If the app is to be used in front of a large audience, it is recommended to project the tablet screen on the canvas in the seminar room using a screen-sharing method via a localhost.
The added value of using a humanoid robot in a live voting scenario is the simplification of the operation, either in dialogue or by robot front-end, as well as the linguistically / emotionally
supported hints on the question and the timing during a voting process.
