After Pepper already moved to the University of Marburg in September 2016, NAO followed in March 2017. NAO is SoftBank
Robotics’ first humanoid robot (first version: 2006) and is partially made up of the same components as Pepper.
However, with 58 centimeters in size, NAO is much smaller than Pepper. Its body is also more mobile. If NAO falls over, getting up again is no problem. Since 2007, NAO has also been participating in
the RoboCup (Robot Soccer World Cup).
Like Pepper, NAO can understand and speak both English and German. Together they are used in the university environment as a part of H.E.A.R.T.
